Carinus Family Vineyards is a collaboration between two friends and distant relatives, Danie and Hugo Carinus. Inspired by the soil and sustained by a passion for artisanal winemaking, this union showcases the best cultivars that the South African Winelands has to offer. The fresh wines express the terroir where the vineyards are rooted and are made using a refined winemaking process to honour and celebrate the cultivars with minimal interference.

Treasuring traditions passed down through generations whilst embracing new adventures, Carinus Family Vineyards is a vino venture rooted in five generations of vineyard cultivation.

Our Vineyards

We are fortunate to farm, and cultivate our fruit, in two of the most exciting wards of the Cape winelands. Our Chenin Blanc (Rooidraai and Carinus) and Colombard in the iron-rich granitic soils of the Swartland; home to some of the finest Chenin’s in South Africa.
